I think this looks great. I think it needs more shadows though. Currently it doesn't really pop from the background and looks really flat.

Hand painted texture's aye. That's an intresting idea, Think i'll have to give that a shot some time. Any advise :?

Thanks :) advice hmm... only important advice i can give you is "take your time" dont speed up when you paint... this took me a huge amount of hours to do but im sure my painting will go faster now and be much cleaner next time. if it takes 4 days like me or 2 weeks just dont rush it take breaks and take your time. (this advice might sound weird but i really wish someone told me this earlier)
